Timber Days is approaching fast. Some of the exciting events include, 'The Best Young Elvis" Travis LeDoyt. Travis will be performing at the Cook High School Gym on June 14, 2008. He will be having 2 shows. One at 3:00 and one at 8:30. Tickets are now on sale. The tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Children ages 12 and under are $5. If you are interested in purchasing tickets you can call Roberta Young at 218-780-4785.
The Timber Days committee is searching for more crafters. If you are interested in having a craft booth you can contact Sharon Hill at 218-666-2211 or Nancy Stebbins at 216-666-5556. The cost is $30 for the weekend.
We are also looking for parade entries and participants. We are encouraging local area businesses, organizations, clubs, school teams, academic groups, and youngsters with bikes, wagons etc. to show their community and school spirit by participating in the parade. The parade will be hold on Sunday June 15th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. For the safety of our children, spectators and parade participants there will be now candy throwing from floats or vehicles. The Timber Days Parade Committee is looking for nominations for the 2008 Grand Marshall. If you know of someone in the community that you feel deserves the recognition of representing Cook and it's surrounding areas please send a short essay on who you are nominating and why you feel they should be Grand Marshall. Entries should be submitted by May 1, 2008. You may send your essay to: Timber Days Parade Committee P O Box 296 Cook, MN 55723.
If you know anyone who would like to make some extra money, now is their chance. We are looking for Candidates to run for the 2008 Timber Days royalty. Last years winner earned $1,650. If you are interested in running or know someone who would, call Ellie Brunner at 218-780-4481 or Tracy Luecken at 218-780-4530. The cut off date is April 30, 2008.
Volunteers are always needed.
This year we will be having a classic car and motorcycle show on Saturday June 14, 2008. If you are interested in displaying your car call Jack Luecken at 218-780-9750 or if you are interested in displaying your motorcycle give Roberta Young a call at 28-780-4785.
